word of the day "BYE"

BYE to the past school year! the kids last day of school was yesterday! yep they are both extremely happy! kelsey will be moving on to jr. high and kameron is saying good BYE to his freshman year in high school. aliya is having a harder time not going to school! she loved pre-school and misses her friends and teacher already!

BYE spring time! maybe not officially, but the weather here feels like we are approaching summer right now! the temps are rising this week! so that means more time inside or out in the pool! the kids have things going on this summer so they may not even notice the heat. well the girls might not. kameron will get very familiar with the heat during football practice! lots of water!!!

BYE BYE clutter! lately i've been in kind of a creative funk! very sad for me! it's lasted way too long! the upside to that though has been my mood to spring clean and declutter! so when the mood hits i take advantage of it! if i don't LOVE it then it is gone! i have a truck load to take down and donate tomorrow! love the feeling of the house having less clutter! makes me breathe a lot easier! my kids know to watch out, because now that school is out their rooms are next on the list!

BYE heather! :( my sister was recently here visiting w/ her 2 boys for 2 weeks! it was so much fun to see them and to hang out! we were able to shop and eat and create! she was even here to take a fun class at the store! just sad that she had to go back home! miss ya sis!

well last of all-------BYE BYE BLOGGER--------which means hello typepad! i've loved having this blog and i'm not going anywhere. i will continue to have a blog. it's just going to be hosted by typepad now! i got the little nudge i needed to make the switch. i think in the long run it's going to make things run smoother for me plus i was able to get my new blog set up. the one i've been talking about for awhile now. it's called "MISSALAYNEEAH" i will be selling my hand cut wood items and some fun little finds i have and will continue to purchase! i'm also in the middle of getting some kits done to sale. i have some left over from the mesa convention that i will post and then today i've been working on a new one for the 4th of july! so i'll see you over in typepad land!

I'M IT!!!

i was visiting kathy's blog and found out that i had been tagged! i met kathy thru a swap with artsymama. what a fun surprise to find out this morning that i had been tagged. so now to tell you 7 weird things about myself.

1. for some reason this is coming to mind- just a silly little story! my sister and i were shopping at a thrift store a few years back and for whatever reason we were just being plain weird. singing and pulling out the most hideous clothes we could find. some how it ended with me finding all the funky skirts and putting them on my head like hair and singing. yep probably weird, but still remember the laughing and fun!

2. there are a few things that drive me crazy if they aren't done the way i would do them- loading the dishwasher, folding the towels, and putting away the utensils. if i find they are out of place or not done the way i do them i redo it.

3. i grew up with my mom putting peanut butter on her pancakes and waffles and then syrup on top. i followed in her footsteps and have passed it on to my kids. new to some people and others know exactly what i'm talk'n about!

4. i HATE bridges!!! mostly the longer ones that go over water! don't like crossing the damn on our way to vegas! hate the ones in california! if i'm not the one driving i usually close my eyes or read or distract myself somehow. if i'm the one driving well it's a lot harder!

5. if i notice a picture somewhere is hanging crooked i have the urge to fix it. often times if no one is paying attention then i will fix it.

6. i'm not very fond of celery. if i do eat it, it has to be raw! i hate cooked celery! it just has a very distinct taste to me that i don't like. when my hubby cooks he will often times make a smaller portion for me w/out the celery! (usually stuffing)

7. this one might not be weird, but it kinda goes with the theme of being tagged. when i was younger (5ish) my mom had left me w/ a sitter while at work. i was outside playing tag with the kids in the apartment complex we lived in. i was the last one to be tagged and hid next to a motorcycle that was parked on a grassy area. all the other kids ended up on the other side of it. somehow it got tipped over and landed on my leg. well i ended up with a broken leg. the motorcycle happened to belong to the sitters boyfriend.

IT'S BEEN AWHILE

ya it's been kinda crazy around here. i'm sure you can all relate! so let me give you a quick run down.

1.these lovely pictures are of a friend we had come visit us the other day. and let me tell you-I HATE SNAKES!!! thank goodness i wasn't the one who found it. my mom and sister did. of course i called craig right away. i was not going to deal with this by myself! he's talking to one of the guys at work that has a snake. he was explaining to him what it looked like. ya well to me it looked like a snake, so get it out! i snapped a few pics and then quickly went inside. he called me from outside letting me know he needed some help. ya right, so i sent my sister out. they were finally able to get it inside a container for craig to take to his buddy at work. craig mentioned that they had it held out and it was over 4 ft. long! YIKES!!!

2.kameron has been playing spring football all this week! it will be lots of football from now until the end of the season in the fall!

3.kelsey is feeling a lot better! she's been having problems with an allergic reaction and had some testing done. she starts allergy shots sometime in june!

4.aliya has kept me on my toes! she has recently insisted that she will no longer use a glue stick, "no way!" she is loving the elmers glue in a bottle! and her favorite thing to say to get my attention is, "mom eyes up here" ya i think she's had a bit too much of school!

5.i've been cutting wood like crazy! had some special orders to fill for devine memories customers. then i'm trying to get stocked up to get them ready for sale to "YOU" so excited about this! i have a ton of ideas i can't wait to get done. hopefully i'll have a few things up for you very soon.

6.since convention i think i lost my thing called creativity! ya know that dang creative block??? have you ever been through that? i'm sure you have. this one just seems to be lasting a lot longer then normal. hmmmm. any suggestions???

7. my sister is in town with her 2 cute little boys! i've seen them a few times (one of them being the day of the snake!) we've got a few more get togethers planned! i so wish they would move back here! i miss her when she's gone!

8.been in a spring cleaning mood lately! well actually it's called get rid of everything mood! once in awhile i go through these moods where i just get rid of almost everything. it's really good because i feel so good when it's done yet then i end up getting rid of something i needed.

well many other things going on with the school year coming to a quick end! i can't believe how fast this school year has gone by! this summer is going to be a fun and busy one! i'm sure in a few months i'll be looking forward to school again! i need to remember to enjoy these times because b4 long they will be gone and they won't be back!

New Family In The Neighborhood

AREN'T THEY SOOOO CUTE???!!!!

well this morning i was dropping aliya off at preshcool. a lady in our neighborhood teaches it. so i was on my way home and saw this cute little family crossing the street! i hurried home to grab the camera. i really wanted to go back and get aliya! she has an addiction for animals and would have loved seeing these cute little ducks.

so i ran in and grabbed the camera and drove

back to find them. they were just walking down the rock area next to the side walk. they were so well behaved! most of the time they were in 2 little lines right behind mama! no squeaking or wondering off! they were so cute to watch.

they then crossed the street again. stopping for a break in a yard of one of my friends. so i ran and knocked on her door. she has small kids at home and i thought what a treat for them. so we watched them for a bit and then they continued on their little journey. when she would stop they would all sit down and wait. then when she was ready they would continue on their way.

i got a count on them...12, wow!!!! i thought i wish my kids would behave this well and i only have 3! they weren't making any noise or wandering off or even fighting. the mama wasn't even making a peep. they just knew what to do.

how cool would that be if our own children were like this???

anyways i had a fun few minutes watching this cute family and getting some pictures to share with aliya.

when i picked up aliya i found out that they had

learned about birds! now after seeing these photos she wants to know where they are so she can go see them!

HAPPY MAY DAY!!!

so i came home yesterday to a package on my door! aliya and i were both excited.

this is my basket from the may basket swap. kathy and i swapped baskets.

this was such a fun experience. aliya also really enjoyed it! she was running around yelling we're rich, we're rich, ya mom you rock!

this 2nd photo here is of some pictures kathy took off my blog and soldered and hung the from a cute little charm.


this little birdhouse has the cutest little roses above the key hole.
i loved all the ribbon she used in my basket, but this was my favorite. it was a pink sheer with tiny scallops on the edges and the green polka dots have glitter on them!
this feather pin was attached to the front of the basket with this cute little tag hanging from it.

also through out the day artsymama will be adding different links to many people that participated in the swap. i think it's going to be so much fun to browse around and see what everyone else made and received!

also aliya decided to make this cute chunky bracelet yesterday. she said she's not sure if she wants to sell it or not. this child is too funny!
