more playing...

so i have a few things that really NEED 2 be done and what do i do??? yep i decided to play a little bit. this card is the latest challenge for the art journal at emily's. the challenge is "i believe"

mine says i believe their is a kid in all of us! then on the back my journaling reads, "no matter what happens i always feel young inside. i'm a kid at heart!" found this cute kewpi doll and knew i wanted to use her on something. still addicted to anything "tealish" i love these little challenges. it just lets you be free in what you do! okay now i will go work on the projects that have a due date!

just for fun...

so i've been wanting to do the art journal challenges over at emily falconbridge's site. so i decided to start with last weeks challenge. "your initial" i thought it would be fun just to use scraps on these cards. (it's not like there is a shortage of them) so i pulled out a letter and distressed it up a bit. i bought the wing stamps a few weeks ago. so i played around with those. i also bought some new ink pads, one of them in my new fave color- teal. so i used that on my cards. i also used the sticker that sealed the ink pad shut at the top of m card. then just some pieces of a rub-on. the journaling on the back says, "this made me remember back in school when we had to write the same letter over and over for practice." did you have to do that? then we got to go back and circle our best ones. i remember we had to write the letters the exact way they were on the board. i remember thinking i can't wait until i can write my letters the way i want to! funny how memories are triggered and what we remember! off to work on a few projects. make it a gr8 one!

7PM challenge

okay so this challenge was to use 4 different pattern papers from 4 different lines. i dug thru my scraps and actually found some that went together. i only finished 3 of the challenges tonight. i'm so tired. i may try a few more in the morning. for now i'm headed to dream land!

6PM challenge

i am so behind tonight! oh well at least i'm getting a few pages done! this challenge was to use a title of a song for the title of your page or somewhere in your journaling. i pulled a few cd's out and found this picture. so the title i went with comes from a nickelback cd. the song is "where do i hide" i need to remember this in the future. it's the title i have a hard time with! okay i'm going to try and go get the next challenge done!

okay so i'm playing along with the challenges. the first one was hard for me! it was to use some old stickers from your stash in a collage. i sanded them so they were more muted. the color on this layout didn't scan good at all! i tried to fix it and it wasn't happening. also here is what aliya did w/ some more of my old stickers. okay off to find out the next challenge.

girl time...

okay so i was in desperate need of some down time and a manicure! so i took kelsey with me and we went to spend some time together. only problem was that the lady talked me into putting the tips back on. i told her i wouldn't do it unless they were short! no one ever listens when i say that, then i end up wearing them for a week or so b4 i rip them off! so she did keep them at the perfect length for me! i must admit they look a lot better then my own nails!

so we got home and the first thing aliya let me know was that she wants a horse. she said not a toy one and not a stuffed one, a real live one! tried explaining to her that we can't keep one in the back yard. so she informed me that we could move. so when daddy called i put him on speaker phone so she could tell him. he said well we could sell your moms scrapbook stuff and buy ya one with that money! (ha ha ha) so now the girls are in front of the tv watching "black beauty" we'll see how that goes! okay off to join in the virtual crop over at devine memories

BUSY???

wow it's been so crazy around here! getting ready for so many things right now! at the top of my list is the ck convention in mesa! the class is "simple pleasures"! it should be a fun class. i'm using papers from dutch girl-cosmo cricket line. this is one of my new favorites! we'll be making a mini album out of something you probably wouldn't think of! it will sit on a shelf or a desk! i know i still have room left so you can still sign up! or when your at the convention you can sign up their to!

also devine memories will have a booth at the convention! michelle and i are cooking up a fun little make-n-take! so you'll have to stop by and say hi! plus i'm working on a fun little surprise. i'll be posting more about it as the convention gets closer! have to hold on to a few secrets!

so i got to hook up with the talented, glitter lover kim kwan yesterday! aliya and i met her and olivia. we did a bit of shopping (ck conv.4 me) and had lunch at sonic. can you believe they don't have many of those in certain areas! i would die w/out my daily dose of sonic! it's sad that they know me at several different locations!

also kim donated some fun stuff to devine memories for the autism fundraiser! you'll hear more about that soon!

also new to our household is the 3 yr old business women! ya aliya informed me of this, "i want to sale my bracelets to the kids" hmmmm she loves doing anything craft related (it rubbed off on her) so she has been making bracelets with pipe cleaners and beads. so she told me that she wanted to sale them. i asked her if she wanted a store (ya wrong thing to say) she responded with an excited YES! so i told her we needed to get some "bracelet string" and different beads so she could make them to sale. she even keeps rattling off names for her store! (very funny!) so keep your eyes open for those. if she stays interested in it i'll post pics of them!

she makes me laugh...

aliya just sometimes says the funniest things. earlier she was moving around a small side table of mine and playing with it. she came running to me in tears and said, "mommy the table stepped on my foot!" i was trying so hard not to laugh, because she was crying and hurt.

later i was laying on the couch (due to the minimal amt. of sleep) she came over to me and leaned down in my face and said, "mom can you do a favorite for me?" what??? "can you do me a favorite?" what do you need? "will you babysit mr. zebra for me?" oh a favor. "ya a favorite." i asked her if i was going to get paid for it. she went and got some change and said here ya go. i told her to keep the money and i would take a kiss instead!

i love the things kids say i just forget to write them down.

never fails...

when you set up an appointment for ___________ to come to your house between 2-6PM they always end up coming at 6! we have been having problems with our downstairs a/c so we called to have them come and fix it. well the lady called me yesterday and that's what i got, the time frame between 2-6! so i get a call at 5:30 and she says he's on his way and should be here by 6! yep he was and it took him an hour! the good news though is that he fixed the problem and we didn't have to have the motor replaced! he was very honest and very nice. so the best part of it is, we have nice cold air downstairs again!

okay on another note aliya has been drawing and coloring on a daily basis. well lately she's been explaining to me what is in the picture. so i decided to start writing on the back of the paper what her explanation is. that way later on down the line we can remember these cute things.

so this is aliya's drawing from today. this his her explanation. "it's a robot strapper. it smashes all the pieces and the germs and it smashes your boogers and takes away the germs. it cleans your toys. not real boogers they're just pretending. but it does clean out daddy's nose for real."

okay so if you understand any of that then great! she just makes it up as she goes. later she brought me another picture and told me to start writing on the back. so she dictated another one to me. this may become a new ritual of ours!

today is 12 of 12!!!!!!!!!!!! so grab your camera and take pictures thru the day documenting the things your doing! the kids are home today. it's spring break over this way! should have some fun photos i hope! have a great day no matter what u'r doing!

WOO-HOO!!!

craig and i decided the other day that we needed a change upstairs in our game room. that's where we have one of the tv's,
the computer, and my scrapping area. well i had been using a

folding table for part of my desk for the longest time. only
because i wanted to see the tv while i worked. makes sense right?

well it just didn't look very good with the table and half of my stuff
collecting under it and around it. my collection grows on a weekly
basis i think! so i thought i would start looking for a desk.

well it didn't take long. michelle and i found this place in phoenix
that sells new and used display items. well we were there looking

for stuff for the ck convention. devine memories will be having a
booth there. well i came across this desk. so i decided to get it and go pick it up this morning. well the guys loaded it with a forklift! telling me that it would take at least 4 guys to inload the thing. then they laughed when i told them i was putting it upstairs.

so kameron had a half day today and he thought at first that him and i could get it in the house on our own. WRONG! so we waited until craig got home. i new he would have an idea on how to get it upstairs.

so they lifted it down onto the little wheels and rolled it to the door. that
was the easy part. finally got it in the door!

it took all 3 of us to get it up the stairs! craig was at the bottom while
kameron and i were on the top trying to lift it up one stair at a time.

well we got it up here and craig said when it has to go downstairs it's going in pieces!

well i'm really excited to get it stocked with all my stuff! it also needs a

tiny bit of TLC, but other than that it's wonderful!

aliya and kels were using wipes to clean off all the dust. these are the drawers. they have the metal sliders to attatch to the bottom and then they will be able to slide in and out on the shelves!

i'm already thinking of all the stuff i'm going to be able to store!

this is the front of it. it has a lip on the top of it so i can set things on the edge w/out falling off! plus i've got it facing the tv area!

this is a view from the other side. this is where the drawers go. they are partially open. i'm going to get baskets to put my stuff in. when it has the shelves in and is all stocked i will post more pics!

my hubby is so happy to be rid of the table!

okay this is a sneak peek of a layout for FTL at devine memories. michelle and i teach this class together on a monthly basis. this class will be the 13th of march. during the class you will finish 2 layouts. one taught by me and the other taught by michelle. we also have other layouts put together in kits for you to purchase at the class. i can't wait for you to see michelle's layout! she's teaching you how to use clay! it's a very fun layout!

also keep a look out for the month of may!!! michelle and i are working on a few new classes we will teach together! i'm very excited about them. i think they will be a blast!
