christmas journal cover

i'm so excited to finally have my cover done to my christmas journal! i love how it turned out! i had origanly planned on using one of the heidi swapp 9x9 albums. well last night i was laying in bed not able to fall asleep. so i had tons of things running through my head! well i started thinking about my journal. then it hit me that i should make the covers out of wood. so i thought it would be fun to have it the letter "C". yet what a pain to journal on pages cut out like a "c". so i had the idea of turning it into a circle journal.

i used an assortmant of rub-ons on the cover and i'm using the crate paper through the whole journal. i also added a tag from m.m.'s and then some odds and ends trim.on the first page it has the tag that says "merry christmas" then i stamped and embossed the december 2006. i used the ranger distressing powder! it was fun to use! love that stuff!

love ink and can't make anything without using it! so i've inked all my papers and trims to give them a more worn and vintage feel!

in this one you can see the back of the "C" i crackled it and then rubbed ink over that to make it also look worn. i had originally planned on this being the front of the cover, but then changed my mind when i knew what i wanted to do with the other side.

so now i still have to get caught up and go do my first page! yep i'm behind a titch! hopefully i'll get caught up this weekend so i can stay on top of it the rest of the month!

i'm off to work on my page and if i'm still functioning i'll post later toinight. if not it should be up by tomorrow!
